Breezin’ Thru Theory – Music Theory & Composition for Grades 7-12
Using Finale or Sibelius music notation software, Breezin’ Thru Theory gets students working quickly through music theory concepts & drills, and gets them engaged in composition activities. This workshop demonstrates how to use the pre-designed notation software templates from Breezin’ Thru Theory and how to teach structured composition lessons.

The CMEA 50th Anniversary Song winner “I Am Song, Je Suis Chanson” was performed as the finale for The Conference of Independent Schools 26th Annual Music Festival. Students from 35 independent schools were chosen to perform in this all-star concert. Listen to the students, what a talented bunch! “I Am Song, Je Chanson” was composed, arranged and conducted by Jean McKen.

The Conference of Independent Schools host their 26th Annual Music Festival. Students from 35 independent schools have been chosen to perform in this all-star concert. The CMEA 50th Anniversary Song winner “I Am Song, Je Suis Chanson” is being performed as the finale, conducted by Jean McKen.
Concert starts at 4pm, Sunday April 18th at Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto.

Jean McKen’s original composition “I Am Song, Je Suis Chanson” has been judged the winning submission in the prestigious song contest organized by CMEA/ACME to celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary.
